Windows Mobile: Disable the text message bubble

Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Technical Articles (Views: 5019)
This is a little something I tested with Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1. Not sure if this works with Windows Mobile 5 or not...

But, one great new feature of Windows Mobile 6.1 is how the text messaging (SMS) works. For the most part, it works like an IM conversation, as opposed to several individual messages as the older versions did. One thing however, that is annoying, is the bubble that pops up every time you send a message.

So how do you fix and remove this popup? Using a Windows Mobile Registry editor, go to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\

Then, set SMSNoSentMsg to 1. If these don't exist, SMSNoSentMsg is a string value you can create.

Just a quick blog on how to make a great phone even greater. :)
